will be delivering some “March Madness” of its own with a double-wave of
priced-to-own DVD and Blu-ray collectibles during the month.
The first wave of releases
arrives on Mar 3 and features the seven-part, double-disc series Vietnam:
50 Years Remembered. Blu-ray
and DVD editions will be available.

From Slavery and The Presidents: From Politics to Power,
the history of the United States’ involvement in Indochina/Vietnam from the
post World War II period through all-out conflict and to the aftermath of the
Vietnam War is explored in detail in this six-hour presentation.
Also arriving on Mar. 3 —
and you will need to have Kleenex at the ready — are two faith-based films
being released by Mill Creek Entertainment that are priced to own at just $9.98
each.
First time director Jim
Huggins had a true-life story that he wanted to share with others. He soon learned that writing, producing and
directing a film had more to do with raising money then the mechanics of
actually filming the story. It was a
two-year journey that grew literally by word of mouth into an absolutely wonderful
film.
As actors, film
technicians and those who loved animals learned of his project, they donated
their skills, their time and their money to the project. Over 500 people were involved in bringing Footprints
to life … it’s an amazing story all on to itself.
David (played by Chris
Faherty) is on the verge of losing everything.
He’s blown it and there is, in his mind, no hope. But hope arrives from an unlikely source, an
abused German Shepherd, who is rescued by David and together this strange duo
of hopeless and helpless deliver salvation and redemption to each other.
Of note, the entire title
for Footprints
is Footprints:
Angels are Real. Some Even Have Fur.
During the filming, which is heartfelt and all there on the screen to be
enjoyed, seven different German Shepard “rescue” dogs were used … all found new
homes of their own.
The other “animal” tale
is director Michael Spence’s Dove Family-Approved true-life story, Friends
for Life.
Jim (Michael Flynn) is a
high-powered attorney who is used to winning.
Life is good, until his beloved wife dies of cancer and all, for him, is
lost. Quite by accident (arranged by an
angel) he comes across four orphaned wolf cubs, who are starving and have
little hope to survive but for another day or two.
He takes them home and
devotes himself to raising them, but despite his love for the animals that have
become so much apart of him, he realizes that they must be returned to the
wild. It is perhaps more than he can
bear, but what follows in the wake of their release will move him to the
core. Like we said, get the Kleenex
ready!!!
Rounding out the Mar. 3
wave are the double-disc releases of Bible Stories for Kids and the Spanish-language version, Historias
de la Biblia para Ninos, the Royal Princess Collection: Cinderella &
Friends and the four-disc collection titled Toon Tube: 200 Classic Cartoon

Next in line is Hollywood
Legends: Lucille Ball, which is a double-disc collection featuring four
of Lucy’s films — Her Husband's Affairs, Miss Grant Takes Richmond, The Fuller Brush Girl
and The
Magic Carpet.
Lastly, we have Hollywood
Legends: Marlon Brando, also a double-disc collection containing four
his films — The Wild One, The Freshman, One-Eyed Jacks and The
Chase.
