Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment Tags June 11 For The Physical Media Rollout Of Writer/Director Adam Wingard's Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire

Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment has selected June 11 as the street date for the full-spread physical media launch of writer/director Adam Wingard’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

The 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD selections will all be stand-alone product offerings.

The ARR is 74 days and the domestic box office take was a stellar $181.7 million.

A premium VOD window arrives on May 14, which is 46 days into the film’s theatrical run, so it is unlikely to have any impact on the film’s box office performance (if any screens are still in play).  

Because of the availability of a master of the film via VOD purchase (or rental), the “Helper” community will have four full weeks to move their own Blu-ray editions to genre fans eager to add this “Monsterverse” film entry to their library of Godzilla and King Kong movies.

Bonus features are limited to the 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray SKUs.   

Topping the list is commentary with filmmaker Adam Wingard, who is joined by visual effect supervisor Alessandro Ongaro, editor Josh Schaeffer and production designer Tom Hammock.

There are also a whopping 14 featurettes included with the 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray releases — “GxK: Day of Reckoning,” “Evolution of the Titans: Godzilla Evolved,” “Evolution of the Titans: From Lonely God to King,” “Into the Hollow Earth: Visualizing Hollow Earth,” “Into the Hollow Earth: Monsters of Hollow Earth,” “The Battles Royale: A Titanic Fight Among the Pyramids,” “The Battles Royale: The Zero Gravity Battle,” “The Battles Royale: The Titans Trash Rio,” “The Intrepid Director: Adam Wingard: Big Kid,” “The Intrepid Director: Adam Wingard: Set Tour,” “The Imagination Department,” “The Monarch Island Base: Portal to Another World,” “The Evolution of Jia: From Orphan to Warrior” and “Bernie’s World: Behind the Triple Locked Door.”
