20th Century-Fox Home Entertainment has targeted
Sept. 15 as the release for both DVD and Blu-ray editions of the surprise
ratings-hit dramatic TV series, Empire: The Complete First Season
(viewership nearly doubled from the launch in early January to its season-ender
in mid-March).
Oscar-nominee Terrence Howard (Hustle & Flow) stars
as Lucious Lyon, the head of a hip-hop music company — Empire Entertainment —
who gets some very bad medical news and must make some harsh decisions as to
who will take control upon his demise … internecine fighting and murder follow.
Bonus goodies include uncut music videos, pilot episode
commentary and a pair of featurettes.
