DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey
Arrow Video, with domestic sales and distribution expertise provided by MVD Entertainment Group, has tabbed July 25 as the street date for a double-disc Blu-ray presentation of director Stuart Gordon’s 1985 iconic horror gem, Re-Animator: Limited Edition.

This 4K restoration includes two separate versions of the film — the unrated “Director’s Cuty” of Re-Animator, which clocks in at 86 minutes and the “Integral” cut, which includes elements of the R-rated domestic theatrical cut (some 63 combined edits that total an additional 19 minutes worth of footage), which was trimmed for violence and to make up for the shorter running time plot elements that were excised from the film were restored.

DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph TribbeyAs to bonus features, Arrow Video is serving up two separate commentary options — one featuring director Stuart Gordon and the second featuring cast members Jeffrey Combs, Barbara Crampton, Bruce Abbott and Robert Sampson, who are joined by producer Brian Yuzna — plus video sessions featuring Gordon, Yuzna, writer Dennis Paoli, composer Richard Band and Tony Timpone (from “Fangoria”).

Plus there is documentary filmmaker Perry Martin’s feature-length documentary titled Re-Animator Resurrectus, deleted scenes, extended scenes and a pair of  featurettes — “Barbara Crampton In Conversation” and “A Guide to Lovecraftian Cinema.”
