It begins! While fans — legions and legions and legions
of fans — await the final season of Game of Thrones, HBO Home
Entertainment made it official this past week that 4K Ultra HD editions of each
of the Emmy-winning seasons will be released beginning on June 5 with the
four-disc collection of Game of Thrones: The Complete First Season.
This collection — which
should be stunning as a 4K presentation — comes with episode commentary, the
animated “tell-all” documentary titled “Animated Histories,” a newly-prepared
30-minute “making of” featurette titled “Making Game of Thrones,” cast
auditions, character profiles and a quartet of featurettes — “Creating the Show
Open,” “From the Book to the Screen,” “The Night's Watch” and “Creating the Dothraki Language.”
