Word arrived this past
week that Mill Creek Entertainment will be expanding its price-to-collect
selection of Blu-ray product offerings on Sept. 11 with the addition of two
double-feature releases … the SRP is a pleasing $14.98 each (and that’s before
discounts at retail).
Up first — and both being
released on Blu-ray for the first time — is the double bill of director Arthur
Hiller’s 1979 horror tale, Nightwing, starring David Warner,
Kathryn Harrold and Nick Mancuso, with is teamed with director George McCowan’s
1976 mystical tale of “evil spirits,” Shadow of the Hawk, starring Jan-Michael
Vincent, Marilyn Hassett and Chief Dan George.
Genre fans are going to
be snapping this Blu-ray double-bill up on Sept. 11 as they get killer bats and
deadly Indian curses; manifestations of evil ... chills and haunting thrills,
what more can you ask for!!
The other Sept. 11
Blu-ray double bill (also featuring films making their Hi-Def debuts) teams
Goldie Hawn (nominated for Best Supporting Actress) with Ingrid Bergman and
Walter Matthau in Gene Saks’ 1969 romantic comedy film adaptation of the Abe
Burrows’ Tony-nominated stage play, Cactus Flower, and director Michael
Powell’s 1969 film adaptation of the Norman Lindsay novel, Age of Consent, starring
James Mason and Helen Mirren.
