Paramount Home Media Teams With Nickelodeon For The DVD Launch Of Blue's Clues And You On Sept. 01

DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey
It’s a Blue’s Clues bonanza this September and October as Paramount Home Media will be teaming up with Nickelodeon for the release of not one, but two new DVD editions drawn from the new reboot of the original Blue’s Clues kidvid series, Blue’s Clues & You.

First up, on Sept. 1, is the DVD debut of Blue’s Clues & You, which features Blue’s new friend, Josh (Joshua Dela Cruz) in four “play-along, laugh-along and learn-along” episodes.   The big focus is a playdate with Magenta and Josh has to help Blue figure out what needs to be done to make that a big success.

In addition to the four episodes, there are fun extras, including songs, “skidoos” and plenty of extra clue-fun for all.

Blue is back on Oct. 6 with the DVD release of Blue’s Clues & You: Caring with Blue, which also features four new episodes, this time the big event is Magenta getting a new pair of glasses.   This DVD release also includes fun extras, like music-themed digital shorts, instruction in the basics of American Sign Language and much more!!

In other DVD release news from Paramount Home Media this past week, Sept. 29 will be the DVD street date for a four disc, 10-episode collection of Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, Season One.

This throwback series — filmed on various locations in the Los Angeles area last summer (2019) — takes place in 1938 (think: Chinatown for the general feel) and introduces us to detectives Tiago Vega (Daniel Zovatto — Don’t Breathe, It Follows, Lady Bird) and Lewis Michener (Nathan Lane — The Birdcage, The Producers), who are not only investigating a particularly brutal murder, but have to contend with the demon Magda (Natalie Dormer — as Margaery Tyrell in the Game of Thrones series) and the arrival of Nazi troublemakers.
