Warner Bros. Home Entertainment announced this past week the street date for something as rare these days as flying monkeys, a theatrical release with a box office gross in excess of $25 million. Hallelujah!
This box office monster in none other than director Tim Story’s mixed animation and live-action treat, Tom & Jerry. The street date for both DVD and Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack editions will be May 18.
For the record, the current box office number is “estimated” to be $39.5 million and the ARR works out to a swift-to-market 81 days.
Bonus features, common to both SKUs, is a gag reel. Exclusive to the Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack edition are deleted scenes, six featurettes — “Bringing Tom & Jerry to Life,” “Tom & Jerry’s World,” “The Feud; #TeamTom vs. #TeamJerry,” “Jerry’s a House for a Mouse,” “The Tom & Jerry Guide to New York City Wildlife” and “Inside the Wedding of Ben and Preeta” — plus there are two “A Scene Comes to Life” examples — “Ben and Preeta’s Wedding” and “Animal Lock-Up.”
