DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey, @dvdblurayreport
More nasty, rotten, mean girls than you can shake a stick at is what Paramount Home Entertainment has in store for you on Apr. 30 with the tandem release of Tina Fay and Rosaline Wiseman’s reworking of Mean Girls, plus a 20th anniversary celebration of director Mark Waters’ Mean Girls (originally co-written by Fay and Wiseman).

The “new” Mean Girls (2024) will be a full spread of physical media product offering … all stand-alone editions for the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD formats.

The ARR comes in at 109 days and the domestic box office gross thus far stands at $69.2 million.

Bonus goodies include a gag reel, extend scenes, a trio of featurettes — “Song and Dance,” “A New Age of Mean Girl” and “The New Plastics” — a Mean Girls sing-along feature and the ReneĆ© Rapp and Megan Thee Stallion music video titled “Not My Fault.”

As for the 20th Anniversary of Mean Girls presentation, this will be a 4K Ultra HD only release.

Bonus features include commentary by director Mark Waters, who is joined by producer Lorne Michaels and writer Tina Fey, plus there are deleted scenes (with optional commentary), a blooper reel (titled “Word Vomit”), the newly minted featurette titled “Mean Girls: Class of ‘04” and three vintage featurettes — “Only the Strong Survive,” “The Politics of Girl World” and “Plastic Fashion.”
