Paramount Home Entertainment will be saving the universe — on Dec. 3 with the 4K Ultra HD launch of director Dean Parisot’s sci-fi comedy gem, Galaxy Quest.

Not only is the 4K Ultra HD debut, but it is also the 25th anniversary of the film’s theatrical launch.

Relying on the “historical documents,” a race of space aliens known as the Thermians, turn to the crew (television actors played by Tim Allen, Alan Rickman, Tony Shalhoub and Sigourney Weaver, along with secondary characters Sam Rockwell and Daryl Mitchell) of the Protector to help them battle Sarris over control of the Omega 13 device.   It’s all real … and so much fun!!

Bonus features include deleted scenes, the newly prepared “Filmmaker Focus with Director Dean Parisot” and six vintage featurettes — “Historical Documents: The Story of Galaxy Quest,” “Never Give Up, Never Surrender: The Intrepid Crew of the NSEA Protector,” “By Grabthar's Hammer, What Amazing Effects,” “Alien School: Creating the Thermian Race,” “Actors in Space” and “Sigourney Weaver Raps.”

In other release news from Paramount Home Entertainment, a full physical media spread of director Josh Cooley’s Transformers One will be ready for fans to enjoy on Dec. 17.

The ARR works out to 88 days and the domestic box office take currently stands at $53.7 million.
There will be four purchasing options.  These will be stand-alone, DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD editions, plus a limited edition 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray SteelBook Combo Pack.

A premium VOD window arrived on Oct. 22, which gives the “Helper” community eight weeks to work the streets with Blu-ray (and DVD) editions of their own making.

Bonus features include five production featurettes — “In The Beginning,” “World Building on Cybertron,” “Together as One,” “The Iacon 5000” and “The Battle for Cybertron.”
