Warner Bros. Home Entertainment announced this past week
that filmmaker Clint Eastwood’s 1992 Best Picture-winner, Unforgiven, will be
released on May 23 as a new 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack product offering.
Bonus goodies included with this Ultra HD edition are
commentary by the late author, critic and film historian Richard Schickel
(author of the 1996 Eastwood bio, “Clint Eastwood: A Biography”), four
featurettes — “All on Accounta’ Pullin' a Trigger,” “Eastwood … a
Star,” “Eastwood and Co.: Making Unforgiven” and “Eastwood on Eastwood” — plus
the vintage TV episode from Maverick
titled “Duel at Sundown.”
In other release news this week from Warner Bros.
Home Entertainment, director Brian Levant’s Max 2: White House Hero, a direct-to-video follow-up to the
surprise 2012 theatrical hit, Max. Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack and DVD editions will
be available on May 23.
The German Shepherd, Max, has a new assignment,
which is being part of the White House Secret Service detail. In his new digs, Max takes a liking to TJ
Bennett, the “first kid” (played by Zane Austin), who has been given the task
of entertaining “Alex” (Francesca Capaldi), the daughter of a visiting foreign
head of state.
There’s a sinister plot
brewing and Max, TJ and Alex have to crack the mystery before it turns into an
international incident.
Bonus features include the making-of featurette
titled “Kids on the Case: Making of Max 2” and a blooper reel titled
“Max 2: A Ruff Life.”
