An asteroid is hurtling
towards our bright blue marble and something must be done or we are all going
to go the way of the dinosaurs. That’s
the premise of the CBS series, Salvation.
News arrived this week
that CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Media will team for the
four-disc DVD launch of Salvation: Season One (the jury is
still out as to a second season) on Dec. 19.
All 13 episodes are included in the set.
An unlikely group forms
to come up with a plan — an MIT student by the name of Liam (Charlie Rowe) and
hi-tech zillionaire named Darius (Santiago Cabrera) team up with a member of
Defense Department (Ian Anthony Dale) to come up with a plan. But they soon find that there are forces at
work with other plans!
Bonus features include
the Comic-Con session from earlier this year, deleted and extended scenes and a
pair of featurettes — “What Would You Do?” and “Science Face: Technology.”
In other release news
this week from Paramount Home Media, the first four Transformers films — Transformers
(2007), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Transformers:
Dark of the Moon (2011) and Transformers: Age of Extinction
(2014) will be available on Dec. 5 as 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack
selections.
On the same date,
director Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar will also be available
at retail as a 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray SKU (Amazon was up and then down with a Dec.
5 release date for Dunkirk … and certain European markets are echoing a first week
of December release for Nolan’s Dunkirk). Does Paramount know something that we’d all
like to know?
