It doesn’t matter one
lick that it started out as a Lord of the Flies sci-fi mystery and
then mutated into a Divergent clone, the Maze Runner series — based on James
Dashner’s best selling sci-fi series of books — has been a huge success
theatrically (the trio have pulled in over $240 million domestically).
20th
Century-Fox Home Entertainment announced this past week that the latest
installment in the series, director Wes Ball’s Maze Runner: The Death Cure,
will be available as a three-SKU array of home entertainment products on Apr.
24.
The ARR works out to 88
days and the box office haul currently stands at $57.4 million.
Planned for release are a
stand-alone DVD edition, a Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack SKU and a 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray
Combo Pack presentation.
Bonus features include
commentary from director Wes Ball, who is joined by screenwriter T.S. Nowlin
and producer Joe Hartwick Jr., a gag reel, deleted and extended scenes (with
optional commentary), a picture gallery (over 300 images) and five production
featurettes — “The Final Run,” “Dystopia,” “Allies Reunited,” “A Look
Back” and “Going Out on Top.”
