Indican Pictures Targets July 17 For The DVD Debut Of Director Russell Gannon's How To Get Rid Of A Body And Still Be Friends

Canandiagua — one of those “finger lakes” in up-state New York (there is actually such a place) — is a town where nothing ever happens!   That is until Maddie Harmon (Kristen Dattilo — perhaps best known as Detective Barbara Gianna on the TV series Dexter) decides to run for state senator.

To find out whether she wins the office or not you will have to wait until July 17 as that is the street date for Indican Pictures’ DVD debut of writer/director Russell Gannon’s laugh-out-loud comedy, How to Get Rid of a Body and Still be Friends.

Maddie is going to run for office, it could be a big deal and it certainly is important to her two best friends — Amy (Nicole Burch) and Laura (Kristen Lynn) — who want to be there for her!   So the weekend before the big announcement, they arrive in Canandiagua to celebrate … and things go down hill from there!!!

We will not give one of the major plot twists away, so that spoiler will not be revealed here, but a hitman named Pete (Angelo Bua) arrives at the trio’s impromptu celebration, but instead of making the “hit,” he is accidentally killed by Mattie, Amy and Laura.

DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph TribbeyGeeze … what to do with the body of the pizza delivery guy (who really isn’t a pizza delivery guy)?   Well, you can call the police, or you can look to other options.

The police option seems simple enough, but there are things going on in the group that suggest a low profile — for example, Amy is pregnant and her boyfriend is moving to San Francisco (and there’s no girl out there waiting), so she is none too keen on media attention.   Mattie wants to be a state senator, this could be the end of that … and well, Laura — who is Mattie’s cousin — takes things in hand and argues for dumping Pete in the finger lake … and no one will be the wiser.

Meanwhile, Frank Risotta (James Sutorius), a big city mob boss — who sent Pete to whack “Jimmy the Rat,” his accountant (who has turned state’s evidence) — is wondering why no word on the “hit.”   So he’s send three more “associates” to make sure the job gets done.

You can see the fun of it … three good friends, dead pizza guy (who is starting to stink a bit) and all sorts of problems in getting rid of his body before the big news conference.   How to Get Rid of a Body and Still be Friends is laugh-out-loud funny and very much in the tradition of Weekend at Bernie’s.
