Century-Fox Home Entertainment looks to Mar. 26 as the street date for
writer/director Barry Jenkins’ film adaptation of James Baldwin’s 1974 novel, If
Beale Street Could Talk.
The ARR for this Oscar
nominated film (Best Adapted Screenplay, Regina King for Best Supporting
Actress and Original Score) comes in at 102 days. Box office receipts, despite the Oscar buzz,
came in on the light side with just $13.8 recorded since the film’s
Christmas-season opening.
Planned for release are a
stand-alone DVD edition and a Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack.
As to bonus goodies,
filmmaker Barry Jenkins (Moonlight) provides commentary, plus
there are deleted scenes and the featurette titled “If Beale Street Could Talk:
Poetry in Motion.”
