Entertainment announced this past week that the reteaming of “Step Brothers” —
Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly — in writer/director Etan Cohen’s Holmes
& Watson will arrive in the home entertainment marketplace on Apr.
9.
The ARR works out to 102
days and box office revenues generated during the film’s domestic theatrical
run came in $30.5 million.
Planned for release are a
Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack and a stand-alone DVD edition.
As to bonus nuggets,
there are a whopping 18 deleted scenes, the Line-O-Rama interactive feature and
a trio of production featurettes — “Will and John: Together Again: Nearly Step
Brothers,” “Seriously Absurd: The Cast” and “Mrs. Hudson’s Men.”
In other release news
from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment this past week, director Roland Emmerich’s
Godzilla
stomps home on May 14 as a 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack.
Sony appears to be
working its film library for 4K Ultra HD candidates at the rate of one or two
per month … Black Hawk Down (May 7) and The Karate Kid: 35th Anniversary
Edition (Apr. 16) were both recently
announced as candidates for the format.
And, director Jon S.
Baird’s biopic, Stan & Ollie, starring John C. Reilly as Oliver Hardy and Steve
Coogan as Stan Laurel, will street on Mar. 26 as both DVD and Blu-ray SKUs.
The ARR is 88 days and
tickets came in a little light at just $4.3 million.
Bonus features include a
trio of deleted scenes, a Q&A session with the cast and crew and a trio of
featurettes — “Making Stan & Ollie,” “Playful Prosthetics” and “The Dancing
Duo.”
