DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey
Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has a tail-wagging treat for animal lovers ready for delivery Aug. 20.   That’s the street date for both DVD and Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack edition of director Gail Mancuso's film adaptation of W. Bruce Cameron’s follow-up book, A Dog's Journey … his first, A Dog’s Purpose, was adapted for the screen in 2017.

The ARR is an industry average of 95 days and domestic ticket sales came in right at $21 million.

Dennis Quaid returns as Ethan, with Josh Gad reprising the voice of Bailey and Bailey’s next-in-line persona, Molly (and others that follow) — if you saw the first film, you will fully understand how both heart-breaking and touching the various incarnations can be.   Go ahead, grab the Kleenex, A Dog’s Journey is one of those feel-good movies that will bring both a smile to your face and a tear to your eye.

Bonus features include commentary by director Gail Mancuso (two-time Emmy Awards-winner for her work on Modern Family), deleted and extended scenes, a gag reel and five featurettes — “A Dog’s Sequel,” “Everyone's Best Friend,” “Working with Dogs,” “A Healing Journey” and “    Scoring the Journey.”
