Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has a
tail-wagging treat for animal lovers ready for delivery Aug. 20. That’s the street date for both DVD and
Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack edition of director Gail Mancuso's film adaptation of W.
Bruce Cameron’s follow-up book, A Dog's Journey …
his first, A Dog’s Purpose, was
adapted for the screen in 2017.
The ARR is an industry average of 95 days and
domestic ticket sales came in right at $21 million.
Dennis Quaid returns as Ethan, with Josh Gad
reprising the voice of Bailey and Bailey’s next-in-line persona, Molly (and
others that follow) — if you saw the first film, you will fully understand how
both heart-breaking and touching the various incarnations can be. Go ahead, grab the Kleenex, A Dog’s
Journey is one of those feel-good movies
that will bring both a smile to your face and a tear to your eye.
Bonus features include commentary by director Gail
Mancuso (two-time Emmy Awards-winner for her work on Modern Family), deleted
and extended scenes, a gag reel and five featurettes — “A Dog’s Sequel,” “Everyone's
Best Friend,” “Working with Dogs,” “A Healing Journey” and “ Scoring the Journey.”
