Paramount Home Media To Release The Twilight Zone: Season Two On DVD On Jan. 12

DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey

Paramount Home Media announced this past week that the CBS All-Access series hosted by Jordan Peele, Twilight Zone: Season Two, will be arriving as a three-disc DVD collection on Jan. 12.

Included here are all ten episodes of the series that arrived en masse at the end of June on the CBS All-Access channel.

In the tradition of the original Rod Sterling series, we get twisted stories peppered with guest stars … a man who hears a woman’s voice and kills on her behalf; a mysterious object in the sky brings everything to a standstill; a bank robber can jump into other bodies by simply making eye-contact … and a wonderful episode involving a time-loop.   Great sci-fi; great storytelling.

In other release news this week, Paramount Home Media continues to expand its Blu-ray release calendar with two new Blu-ray debut editions that will be ready for consumers on Nov. 24.

Up first is director Michael Curtiz’s 1955 film adaptation of French playwright Albert Husson’s 1952 stage play, We're No Angels, which stars Humphrey Bogart, Aldo Ray and Peter Ustinov, as three convicts who escape from the prison colony of Devil’s Island on Christmas Eve in 1895.   Their adventures — or should we say, “miss-adventures” – at the nearby general store of the Ducotel family (Leo G. Carroll, Joan Bennett and Gloria Talbot) and the arrival of Trochard (Basil Rathbone) eventually give them second thoughts about escaping back to the “real world.”

Also making a Blu-ray debut on Nov. 24, director Curtis Hanson’s Wonder Boys, starring Michael Douglas, Tobey Maguire, Frances McDormand, Robert Downey Jr. and Katie Holmes.
