MVD Entertainment Group To Release On DVD Documentary Filmmaker Eduardo Equia Dibildox's The Van Halen Story: The Early Years On Apr. 23

DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey

MVD Entertainment Group has selected Friday, Apr. 23, for the DVD release of documentary filmmaker Eduardo Eguia Dibildox’s Van Halen: The Van Halen Story: The Early Years.

The narrator is none other than J.J. Jackson, one of the original five MTV VJs, which is appropriate since the documentary covers the early years of Van Halen (the band), when MTV was a force in the music world.

The late Eddie Van Halen, along with his brother, Alex Van Halen (on drums), David Lee Roth and Michael Anthony, formed their rock group in the mid-70s in Southern California.   Between 1974 and 1982 they served up five albums, all million unit-plus sellers and had five world tours under their belt.

Dibildox’s documentary includes those who knew the four musician before they were a force of nature, plus those who were part of the scene during the group’s rocket to stardom.

The focus is on the period from the early club-hopping days through the departure of David Lee Roth, including rare footage from the group’s first world tour.
