Paramount Home Entertainment made it official this past week, director Joth Riggs’ Night of the Sicario will be making its DVD debut on June 29.
Taylor Ward (Natasha Henstridge — Species, Ghosts of Mars, The Whole Nine Yards) is a former fashion model who has given it all up to run a nursing home, or what some might call an “assisted living” facility. She’s got a good heart, and as things unfold that will be put to the test.
As with any good wrong place at the right time storyline, Taylor’s facility becomes the focal point for the action by chance as DEA Agent Cole Bennet (Costas Mandylor) becomes the target of assassins while transporting the Fuentes family, who are in a witness protection program. The mother, Teresa (Amanda Diaz), knows the ins and outs of the operation and has cut a deal to be a witness in a high-profile drug cartel prosecution.
The problem is, their hiding place has been comprised and Bennet has been ambushed. Thinking that Taylor’s facility might be medical in nature, he takes Teresa’s wounded husband and their daughter to Taylor’s little corner of the world, only to discover that it is an “old folks” home … and now they are trapped!! To make matters worse — if they can get much worse — there is a hurricane headed their way!!
Members of the hit squad — the Sicario assassins — have Taylor’s facility cutoff and it is only a matter of time before a massacre will take place. What they don’t count on is Taylor’s courage and the fact that her “patients” are not quite ready to die just yet!!
