It will be Christmas with Tony this year. Tony Soprano, that is, as Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has selected Dec. 21 as the street date for a three-SKU helping of director Alan Taylor’s The Many Saints of Newark.
This look at the early years of Tony Soprano (played by James Gandolpini’s son, Michael), and his gangland mentor, Dickie Moltisanti (Alessandro Nivola), arrives in the home entertainment packaged media marketplace with an ARR of 81 days. The box office tally was light, considering the reported production budget, at just $6.2 million.
Planned for release are stand-alone Blu-ray and DVD editions, plus a 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack SKU.
Bonus features common to all release configurations include deleted scenes. Exclusive to the Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD editions are a pair of featurettes — “Making Of Newark” and “Sopranos Family Honor.”
