The Zombie Collection On DVD From Mill Creek Entertainment Arrives On Jan. 18

Terror!   Horror beyond comprehension!!   Chills from films that will give you nightmares!!!

That’s what Mill Creek Entertainment has in store for genre fans on Jan. 18 with the four-film, double-disc DVD release of The Zombie Collection.

OK, we are the first to admit that maybe the terror, horror and nightmare tease was a bit over the top as Mill Creek has assembled a somewhat different take on the flesh-consuming world of zombies.   Can you say tongue-in-cheek, without chewing off the tongue or taking a bite out of the cheek, because this is a fun-fest of zombie features with the emphasis on laughs (and of course, things that zombies).

For starters, The Zombie Collection has writer/direct Craig Tudor James’ Granny of the Dead, starring Marcus Carroll (Monstrum) as Ed, who has been out drinking it up and having a good time with his friends and came in late, missing what he will soon find to be a dramatic change in his grandmother’s behavior.   Not only is she busy cooking the cat when he gets up the next morning, but she is dead … a newly minted member of the walking dead.

Apparently, this new zombie plague is unique to the old folks about town and it is up to Ed to figure out a way to survive those with walkers and canes … who are dead and hungry for young flesh!!

Next up is Austrian filmmaker Dominik Hartl’s Attack of the Lederhosen Zombies.   It doesn’t have to be big city streets, even a ski resort in the Austrian Alps can be the location for a zombie outbreak.   Here we find a trio of snowboarders trapped and forced to take on the zombies … and, if that wasn’t bad enough, they also have to take on the zombie critters that lurk in the woods!

If you remember Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, then director Scott Wheeler’s Attack of the Killer Donuts is right there with it … plus it has romance and other stuff.

Johnny (Justin Ray) is a sucker.  His “girlfriend” is playing him like a fiddle, while his secret admirer — and co-worker at Dandy Donuts — Michelle (Kayla Compton) can’t get the time of day from him.   But all that changes when his uncle — a mad scientist, of course — accidently has a vial of what he has been working on in his lab spilled into the current batch of donuts being prepared at Dandy Donuts.

Zombie donuts … flesh devouring zombie donuts are on the prowl and Johnny and Michelle, along with Johnny’s buddy Howard (Ben Heyman) are perhaps the only ones who can stop the menace before the entire town in consumed!!   Will they find love along the way … or become a jelly-filled snack!!

Rounding out The Zombie Collection from Mill Creek Entertainment on Jan. 18 is writer/director Keith Wright’s Harold's Going Stiff, starring Stan Rowe as the title character, Harold.   He seems that our hero has contracted Onset Rigor Disease and is slowly turning into the walking dead.

But wait, there’s hope, an experimental cure.   But when that goes south, Harold has to take it on the lam to avoid being chopped up by his vigilante friends … can his “care-giver,” Penny (Sarah Spencer), who has come up with a unique method to keep him “limber,” find a solution to poor Harold’s ORD problems before it is too late … Jan. 18 to find out!!
