Disney Media And Entertainment Distribution Readies Writer/Director David O. Russell's Amsterdam For Delivery On Dec. 06

Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution has selected Dec. 6 as the street date for a full-spread of home entertainment package media format buying options of writer/director David O. Russell’s ambitious 1930s tale of murder and political intrigue, Amsterdam, starring Christian Bale, Margot Robbie and John David Washington.

The ARR is a swift-to-market 60 days and box office receipts, despite the film’s cast and splendid production values (we expect to see Oscar nominations in several tech categories), Amsterdam under-performed at the box office with just $14.6 million in ticket sales.  

Part of the problem was a muddled theatrical campaign which didn’t set the proper tone for this Chinatown-like thriller … perhaps it will fare better in the home entertainment marketplace.

SKU selections include a 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack and stand-alone DVD and Blu-ray product offerings.

The only bonus is a featurette titled “Welcome to Amsterdam.”
