There are few secrets in the home entertainment business when it comes to when a film grossing in excess of $25 million at the box office.
A case in point, two weeks ago distributor websites were hot with the news that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile would be streeting on Dec. 13. We contacted Sony to confirm … not official said Sony. We sat on it … this week, official.
The ARR works out to 67 days and box office receipts for the directing team of Will Speck and Josh Gordon’s film adaptation of Bernard Webber’s children books (“The House on East 88th Street” (1962) and “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile” (1965)) currently stands at $40.8 million.
Planned for distribution are Combo Pack editions for both the 4K Ultra HD (with Blu-ray) and Blu-ray (with DVD) formats, plus a stand-alone DVD purchasing option.
Bonus features common to all three release SKUs are the featurettes titled “Croc and Roll” and “Take a Look at Us Now,” plus a pair of Pasek & Paul music videos — “Top of the World” and “Carried Away.”
Exclusive to the Combo Pack presentations are deleted scenes, a blooper reel, the featurette titled “Storytime with Shawn Mendes & Javier Bardem” and four Karaoke Sing-Along Songs.
