Bayview Entertainment Has Writer/Director Elias Matar's What Is Buried Must Remain Ready For Its Blu-ray Debut On Sept. 26

A horror tale in Arabic.   You can almost hear the clicky-clicks as genre fans sign off and head for the exits.   But, wait, this is one from writer, producer and director Elias Matar (Ashes), so back the truck up and hang in there, it will be worth your while.

Bayview Entertainment has Matar’s What is Buried Must Remain, a Vipco production, lined up for its Blu-ray debut on Sept. 26 and it is certainly worthy of a look-see.

Filmed in Lebanon, What is Buried Must Remain begin as a routine little tale about a trio of film students doing a documentary about a haunted house — the locals think it is haunted, so it is haunted — and the story behind a wealthy French industrialist and the mysterious killings that took place at this 30’s style villa.

He apparently slaughtered his family, but that could just be a folk tale.  Nevertheless, such a gruesome tale is certainly worth investigating … and the place is creepy, all the more so with what is taking place on a daily basis — war and violence on a grand scale.

DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey, @dvdblurayreportAs the story unfolds, you have to ask yourself, are the filmmakers adding their own fears and insecurities to what they are “objectively” investigating?   Is What is Buried Must Remain a ghost tale from another era … or something more?

You be the judge on Sept. 26 with the Blu-ray debut of What is Buried Must Remain from Bayview Entertainment.   Presented in Arabic with English subtitles.
