Paramount Home Entertainment will be issuing a 25th anniversary edition of director Alexander Payne’s 1999 film adaptation of Tom Perrota’s 1998 novel, Election, on July 30.
Reese Witherspoon absolutely shines as the cunning Tracy Flick, the high school student on a mission to become student body president of Carver High School. Jim McAllister, played by Matthew Broderick, is a mild manner teacher (with personal issues) who makes the life-altering mistake of trying to short-circuit Tracy’s rise to power!!
Bonus features include the newly prepared featurette titled “Who Cares About This Stupid Election!”
Archived bonuses include commentary by filmmaker Alexander Payne (Sideways, The Holdovers), plus three vintage featurettes — “Not Another High School Movie,” “Pick Flick: Casting 101” and “That’s Why It’s Destiny.”
