Julius Kelp turns 50 and Warner Home Video is ready to celebrate on June 3
with the release of The Nutty Professor: 50th Anniversary - Ultimate Collector's Edition.
This collection features
both Blu-ray and DVD editions of actor/director/writer Jerry Lewis’ classic
comedy about a loser of a chemist who changes everything with a magic invention
that transforms him into a genuine lady’s man.
Stella Stevens co-stars.
Bonus features included
in this collection begin with two additional films starring Jerry Lewis on DVD,
Cinderfella
(1960, with Anna Maria Alberghetti, Ed Wynn and Judith Anderson) and The
Errand Boy (1961, also directed by Jerry Lewis), plus a bonus CD titled
“Phoney Phone Calls.”
Other bonus nuggets
included on The Nutty Professor release are commentary by Jerry Lewis and
Steve Lawrence, three featurettes — “The Nutty Professor: Perfecting The
Formula,” “Jerry Lewis at Work” and “Jerry at Movieland Wax Museum” — deleted
scenes, a blooper reel and outtakes.
Also heading to Blu-ray
are Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson in Zoolander (June 3) and director
Richard Tuggle’s 1984 detective thriller starring Clint Eastwood and Geneviève
Bujold, Tight Rope (June 10).
