Film Chest’s latest
restoration is a good one on three counts.
First, it is a classic
horror treat right from the beginnings of the 1970s “slasher cycle.”
Second, the film deftly blends its horror
with a clever whodunit tale that will leave you guessing, even as the end
credits roll.
And lastly, it stars Playboy Cover Girl, Rosie Holotik … talk
about your “horror eye-candy!!”
Of course the film in
question is director S.F. Brownrigg’s 1973 indie horror gem, Don't
Look in the Basement, which will be available in all of its newly
restored DVD glory just in time for Christmas on Dec. 16.
