Arrow Video, with
domestic sales and distribution expertise provided by MVD Entertainment Group,
has tabbed Mar. 20 as the release date for a new 4K restoration (from the
original film negative) of auteur
filmmaker Robert Altman’s 1972 film release of Images.
It will be released as a
Blu-ray product offering.
Crazy as a bed bug,
Susannah York stars as Cathryn, the successful writer of children’s books, who
suspects that her husband, Hugh (played by René Auberjonois), of having an
affair. Isolated at a remote country
home in rural Ireland, she beings to have all sorts of hallucinations … which
result in not one, but two murders.
Bonus features include
commentary from Samm Deighan (Associate Editor of Diabolique Magazine) and Kat Ellinger (Editor-in-Chief of Diabolique Magazine), a vintage
commentary (scene-specific) from director Robert Altman and a newly-prepared
video session with actor Cathryn Harrison (as Susannah).
Also on the release
schedule in March from Arrow Video are three films from the late iconic horror
filmmaker George A. Romero. These were
previously included in the limited edition box set of George Romero Between Night and
Dawn (released back on Nov. 14).
Being released on Mar. 13
as stand-alone Blu-ray releases are The Crazies (with commentary by Travis
Crawford), Season of the Witch (Crawford also provides commentary) and There’s
Always Vanilla (yes, Crawford also provides commentary).
