Word arrived this past week that a new Marquee
Collection candidate for Blu-ray release has been announced by MVD
Entertainment Group.
Director Worth Keeter’s 1993 mystery thriller, Snapdragon,
will be joining the company’s Blu-ray library of films that fall been between
“cult” (not old enough) status and “catalog” (too new for that) on July 14.
Baywatch super
star Pamela Anderson was just coming into her own with that series when she
took time off between seasons to star in Snapdragon. Here she plays a former sex-slave named Felicity,
who has blocked her past experiences as a child, but continues to seduce men …
and, because of her past, has started killing her tricks. How she does it is kind of creepy.
In any case, her murders have raised eyebrows and Detective
Sergeant Peg “Peck” Peckham (Chelsea Field — The Last
Boy Scout, A Passion to Kill) has been assigned to
the case. She recruits a clinical psychologist
by the name of Doctor David Hoogstraten (Steven Bauer — Scarface,
Traffic, Primal Fear, etc.) to help her profile the
character.
Here’s where it gets twisted. Felicity happens to be one of his patients
(she is definitely messed up) and Dr. Hoogstraten (say that three times) has
the hots for her (come on, it’s Pamela Anderson). Will he be a victim of the “Snapdragon”
before Peckham puts two-and-two together?
