Paramount Home Media Distribution has locked in June 16 for a “Paramount Presents” Blu-ray presentation of director Howard Deutch’s 1986 teenage angst comedy hit, Pretty in Pink, starring Molly Ringwald, Andrew McCarthy, Jon Cryer, James Spader and Harry Dean Stanton.

Paramount’s new Blu-ray promotional program for the studio’s extensive film library — “Paramount Presents” — looks to be a winner with the first three releases in the series — Fatal Attraction, King Creole and To Catch a Thief — all set for delivery on Apr. 21.

Love, class distinctions between blue collar and wealth and some cruel high school game playing, all play out in Pretty in Pink, which features a winning combination of some smart/insightful writing (by John Hughes, whose scripts include Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Home Alone) and excellent performances from the ensemble cast.

This new 4K film restoration arrives on Blu-ray with bonus features that include an isolated score, the original ending (“The Lost Dance”) and a newly prepared video session with director Howard Deutch titled “Filmmaker Focus.”

Two other “Paramount Presents” Blu-ray presentations are also in the pipeline.   Arriving May 19 is a new 4K restoration of director Adrian Lyne’s 1983 smash romantic hit, Flashdance, starring Jennifer Beals and featuring a knockout soundtrack that includes Irene Cara’s “What a Feeling,” Karen Ichiuji-Ramone’s (aka: Karen Kamon) “Manhunt” and Micheal Sembello’s “Maniac.”

Bonus features include a trio of featurettes — “The Look of Flashdance,” “Releasing the Flashdance Phenomenon” and “Filmmaker Focus: Director Adrian Lyne on Flashdance.”

Also on May 19 is a new 4K restoration of director Tony Scott’s 1990 Nascar classic, Days of Thunder, starring Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman and Robert Duvall.
