Bayview Entertainment announced this past week that
writer/director Joe Leone’s creepy horror tale, Reap,
will be making its DVD debut on Sept. 15.
Rachel (Annabelle Lyttle — Blood
Falls) is hosting a little party for some of her
friends, nothing special, just an evening together, but things are going to take
a very strange turn when a dead girl just shows up!!
What? A dead
girl at the party? It seems that a nut
job has just escaped from the local insane asylum (played by Jordan Allen Bell)
and is slowly making his way towards the party — like some walking dead
creature on a mission. Anyone who
crosses his path meets with a quick and violent death, he’s a real
sweetheart.
Now genre fans will immediately recognize that
Rachel’s party guests are the victim pool and, as it turns out, they all have
something in common (besides being at the party), but we won’t give that away
here.
The “dead girl,” who has just walked in on the festivities,
is one of the escaped lunatic’s victims and she is played by Fawn Damara Robson
(Pledge, No Way Out),
who has a unique, very linear face with long, very noticeable ears … it doesn’t
appear that any prosthetics were used. Her
appearance gives off a creepy look that plays exceptionally well when she
interacts with the party guests.
She’s dead, we saw her being murdered by the crazy
guy, but suddenly she is back up and in no time shows up at the party with a
good news/bad news announcement. “Hey
guys, death is on the way and you are all going to die … unless.” It seems that she is now possessed by the Grim
Reaper and is there to collect their souls, but they can escape their fate (by
4:30 in the morning) if each one finds a replacement soul — murder someone else
and go free. There is no escape.
Of course, no one believes that nonsense and it is party
guest Francesca (Alexis Abrams — Blood Falls) who
is the first to call the Grim Reaper’s bluff and storm out of Rachel’s party. She gets as far as the front lawn before she
dies a horrible death!
Game on!!
Clock is ticking, death is on the way, who can Rachel, her friends —
Melanie (Gabriella Chiulli — Blood Falls),
Bradley (Kerwin Johnson Jr. — Blood Falls, Parched),
Jake (Andrew Burdette) and Harmony (Arielle Fray — Blood
Falls) — coax over to the party and, well, kill. Can they even muster up the courage to do
it? Sept. 15, Reap on
DVD from Bayview Entertainment to discover the answer to how this “kill-fest”
party ends.
