Icarus Films Sets Nov. 2 As The DVD Debut Date For Director Yamina Benguigui's Sisters

DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey
Icarus Films will be joining forces with France’s leading film production and distribution studio, Distrib Films, on Nov. 2 for the domestic DVD debut of director Yamina Benguigui’s cinematic gem, Sisters.

Drawn from her own experiences, Benguigui introduces us to three sisters, Zorah (Isabelle Adjani), Djamila (Rachida Brakni) and Norah (Maïwenn), who have a shared past that they would like to forget.

Buried, forgotten, until Zorah, the oldest of the three, decides to produce a stage play that tells the story of how their father literally kidnapped their brother, Rheda, and he has not been seen or heard from since.

Talk about friction.  Djamila and Norah want none of it.   They thought that the past was dead and buried when they left Algeria and moved to France … for all they could care, their father could rot.

Thirty years have passed, but one phone call and suddenly the issue is back in front of them   Their father is dying.   One last chance to solve the mystery … the events in the play and the events in the real world collide with often startling results.  Benguigui brings the past and the present together … flashbacks, the pain: the sorrow.  But will the mystery be solved?

Sisters is presented in French with English subtitles
