Mill Creek Entertainment Has A Four-Strong "Christmas Collection" Movie Promotion Ready For DVD On Nov. 02

DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas, especially at Mill Creek Entertainment with their four-strong Nov. 02 priced-to-collect “Christmas Collection” DVD promotion.

The holiday celebration kicks off with writer/director Gary Wheeler’s Christmas in the Smokies, starring Sarah Lancaster (best known as Rachel from the Save by the Bell TV series … The Terror of Hallow's Eve, Love Finds You in Sugarcreek, etc.) as Shelby, the operator of a family-owned berry farm, which has become the target of land developers.

As we join the story, it is clear that the new mall will gobble up the family business.  No more home cooked pies and jams galore, unless, yes, unless there is a miracle.   That comes in the form of her school sweetheart, Mason Wyatt (Alan Powell — The Song, Where Hope Grows, Worth Fighting For), who dumped her for a singing career.

He’s come back to his old home town for a little down time.  The grind, the career, the fans … he needs a break.   At first, Shelby is still hurt from the way the he treated her, but he, after seeing her once again, is having second thoughts.  She is having nothing to do with it.

The miracle arrives in the form of her changing her mind, softening her ways and Shelby offering to put on a huge Christmas benefit concert … but will it be enough!!

So successful was Gary Wheeler with Christmas in the Smokies, that he returned to the family-themed genre three years later with Christmas on the Coast, this time starring Julie Ann Emery (as Agent Sylvia Reese in the Bosch television series).

Emery plays Drucinda Cassadine, a popular novelist who has turned out a string of Christmas-themed romances … but she’s gone cold, not only with her writing, but towards both Christmas and romance.   Unless she works her way through these issues, her career is toast!!

If the truth be known, Drucinda has turned into a real downer, so she decides to ditch New York City and head back to her childhood hometown to see if she can get out of her funk.   And surprise, she is attracted to widower Brysen Flynn (Burgess Jenkins — Remember the Titans, The Reaping, Uncle Frank) … could this be her inspiration!!

And, we are back to filmmaker Gary Wheeler for the debut of his last Christmas-season film, Christmas in the Pines, teaming Jillian Murray (A Kiss on Candy Cane Lane, Cabin Fever 3: Patient Zero) and Dean Geyer (as Ty Harper on the Neighbors television series) as professionals — she a magazine writer and he an architect — who have set their sights on an absolutely marvelous vacation cottage.

It’s war!!  Who will claim the prize?   But, wait, wait, wait, there’s something else going on in this magical tale.   Could it be love in the pine?

Rounding out this “Christmas Collection” DVD promotion from Mill Creek Entertainment on Nov. 2 is director Justin G. Dyck’s Christmas in the Rockies.

Katie Jolly (Kimberly-Sue Murray — Love Alaska, My Perfect Romance) has worked hard and now has the perfect, career-making, job offer, but her father has been injured in the family business, which is logging.

She knows the business cold.  She has the skill-set and sees the perfect solution, win the Christmas season lumberjack competition, save the family business and take the dream.   What could go wrong?   Romance!!
