Bayview Entertainment Tags June 14 For The DVD Debut Of Writer/Director Britt Kynde's Cursed

DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey

Bayview Entertainment announced this past week that Aussie filmmaker Britt Kynde’s sketch-comedy “horror” film, Cursed, will be making its domestic DVD debut on June 14.

Deliberately filmed in black and white to give it a throwback feel, we are introduced to Cat (played by writer/director Britt Kynde), who shares the place she lives in with two others, Nan (Elora Wilson) and Dan (Paul Tucker — The Hitman and the Kid, Immortality, Psychopath).   Cat can be disagreeable, which ticks off the neighbor, who just happens to be a gypsy and who lays a curse on the place in a “that will teach you” moment of pique.

So, what is the gypsy curse?   It just happens to be Friday the 13th, and also Dan’s birthday, so the curse is that Cat, Nan and Dan can’t leave the house or they will die!!   This fate soon befalls two of Dan’s friends, Glen (Dave Beamish — Mutt, Shards, Tilt, Thicker than Water) and Reefer (Chris Charteris — Red Curtain Hell, Psychopath) … who rise from the dead and are stuck in the cursed house.

That could be a straight-up horror tale, but filmmaker Britt Kynde uses this conceit to spin a series of horror-laced comedy bits that hit the mark and provide the bulk of the fun.   Cursed is a delightful sketch comedy dressed up as a Friday the 13th horror tale … and from Down Under to boot!

Check it out when it surfaces stateside on DVD this coming June 14 from Bayview Entertainment.
