Paramount Home Entertainment will be teaming up with CBS Home Entertainment on July 12 for the rollout of both Blu-ray and DVD collections of Star Trek: Lower Decks – Season Two.
Life aboard the USS Cerritos in the 24th Century as viewed, not from the Captain’s chair, but as experienced by the “background” crew living in the lower decks of this starship on its various missions plays out in unexpected ways. And yes, before we touch on the bonus goodies, a third season is on its way (and should be beaming in sometime later this summer or early in the fall).
The configuration for these home entertainment packaged media releases — featuring all ten episodes from season two— will be double-disc DVD and double-disc Blu-ray SKUs.
Bonus nuggets include selected episode commentaries and two featurettes — “A Sound Foundation” and “Lower Decktionary: Season Two.”
In other release news from Paramount Home Entertainment this past week, director Julian Jarrold’s 2006 comedy, Kinky Boots, starring Golden Globe Best Actor-nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor as a drag queen boot designer, who teams with an out-of-his-league shoe factory owner, Joel Edgerton, to save the day, will be making its Blu-ray debut on June 7.
Bonus goodies include commentary from director Julian Jarrold (Becoming Jane, Brideshead Revisited, A Royal Night Out), who is joined by cast members Joel Edgerton (The King, Red Sparrow, Black Mass), Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave, The Martian, Doctor Strange) and Sarah-Jane Potts (The Chameleon), plus there are deleted scenes and a pair of featurettes — “The Real Kinky Boots Factory” and “The Journey of a Brogue.”
