Rob Smart has a problem. He’s in love with a beautiful young woman by the name of Katie … that’s not his problem. He just bought a $4 million mansion to impress his future father-in-law, who has his doubts about Rob … that’s not his problem.
So, what’s his problem? He has borrowed the money from Big Sally to buy the mansion for his future bride and to impress her doubting father and now Big Sally wants to collect … that’s his problem!
Bayview Entertainment announced this past week that writer/director Ian Niles’ Lie Hard, starring Ian Niles (Pitching Tents, Black Water) as Rob, the man with a “big” problem, will be making its Blu-ray debut on Feb. 28.
Rob is in love with Katie (Melanie Chandra — Rain Beau’s End, Sucked In … as Malaya in the Code Black television series) and that has clouded his judgment, especially after being taken aside by her father (played by Patrick Kilpatrick — Borrowed Time III, Catalyst, The Replacement Killers, Minority Report, Black Water) and told to look elsewhere for a future bride as he’s not worthy.
This leads him to Big Sally (Catherine Curtin — Red Pill, Gold Star … as Wanda Bell in Orange Is the New Black; as Claudia Henderson in Stranger Things), who fronts him the aforementioned cash to purchase the mansion … which impresses Katie’s father enough to have a change of heart.
Problem solved, right? Not so fast, Big Sally suddenly has other plans, she wants her money back and dispatches her minions to inform Rob that his loan is due. No problem, he’ll have a little chat with Big Sally and work things out … knife in the leg, twisted to make a point, and a beating which lands him in the hospital. He explains to his worried bride that he was attacked by a dog!
Meanwhile, Rob finds out that the former owner of the place he just bought had hidden a fortune in ill-gotten loot in the walls — problem solved — and so he hires Brick (Joel Marsh Garland — as Scott in Orange Is the New Black) and Clyde (Chris Jarell — 16 Bars, The Inheritance) to look for the cash while he keeps Big Sally at bay (hint: they are inept).
A lesson to be learned? Certainly: Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive … but will Rob survive long enough to learn the lesson and mend his ways? Lie Hard on Blu-ray from Bayview Entertainment on Feb. 28 to discover the answer!!
