Not only did Russell (Three Kings, I Heart Huckabees, Silver Linings Playbook, Amsterdam, etc.) get a nomination for directing, but among the ten overall Oscar nominations there were four for acting — Amy Adams, Christian Bale, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper.
