Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment Readies Two New 4K Ultra HD Releases With An Apr. 23 Street Date • Director David Ayer's The Beekeeper • Martin Scorsese's The Departed

DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey, @DVDblurayreportWarner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment doubles-up on new 4K Ultra HD announcements during the same week.   One, a new theatrical releases … and the other from the vaults!

Let’s start with the new theatrical arrival, which takes place on Apr. 23 as a full-spread physical media launch.   This would be director David Ayer’s The Beekeeper, starring Jason Statham.

The ARR for this Amazon MGM Studios production works out to 102 days and the domestic box office take currently amounts to $63.1 million.

All three editions — 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD — will be stand-alone presentations.  

Additionally, there appears to be no bonus features included with any of the physical media releases.

DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey, @DVDblurayreportFrom the vaults — for the first time as a 4K Ultra HD — comes auteur filmmaker Martin Scorsese’s 2006 Best Picture winner, The Departed.   The delivery date is also Apr. 23.

Scorsese won Best Director and scriptwriter William Monahan’s adaptation of Alan Mak and Felix Chong’s 2002 film titled Internal Affairs captured the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Bonus features include the newly minted featurette titled “Guilt and Betrayal: Looking Into The Departed,” two archived featurettes — “Stranger than Fiction: The True Story of Whitey Bulger, Southie and The Departed” and “Crossing Criminal Cultures” — and nine deleted scenes (with introduction by Scorsese).
