Cleopatra Entertainment, with sales and distribution expertise provided by MVD Entertainment Group, has tabbed Nov. 12 as the street date for both Blu-ray and DVD editions of actor-turned-director Taylor Martin’s Silent Bite.
Father Christmas, played by Simon Phillips (as “Mickey” in director Jamie Bailey’s The Mouse Trap; as Luke in filmmaker Jesse Palangio’s Blood and Snow) who also provided the script, is the leader of an eccentric band of bank robbers (all dressed as Santa Claus … or Santa’s helpers) who are fresh from their latest job and looking for an out-the-way place to hideout.
Filmed on location in and around Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada, the quartet settle on the Jolly Roger Inn & Resort (an actual place) to spend some down time on over the Christmas holiday.
It’s a great plan, except for one little detail (or two … or three). Another group has also checked in and they’ve been busy. More on that in a bit (or is that “bite”).
Blake (Luke Avoledo), the kid robber in the group, soon discovers Genie (Camille Blott) tied to a chair in the bar area. She has one word for him, “Run!”
Question: is Genie bait? Is she tied to that chair for a purpose (not giving plot elements away here)?
In any case, Father Christmas, Snowman (Michael Swatton) and Grinch (Nick Biskupek) soon discover — with some back details filled in by Genie — that the Jolly Roger is home to a clan of female vampires led by Selene (Sienna Star — What Lurks Beneath), along with Lucia (Louisa Capulet) and Victoria (Kelly Schwartz), who are hunting humans … welcome to the “Hunt” Father Christmas!!
Silent Bite is a nifty twist on a familiar theme. The bank robbers — Father Christmas and his merry band — are actually the well-known “victim pool,” although they don’t see themselves in any way, shape or form as victims. The Jolly Roger Inn & Resort stands in nicely for the “haunted house” … and a trio of sexy vampires (with a hunger for blood) are the killing force that must be dealt with!
Is there a final girl? To discover the answer, be sure to check out Silent Bite on either DVD or Blu-ray from Cleopatra Entertainment on Nov. 12.
