Cleopatra Music And Films Readies Sunset Society For DVD And Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack Release On July 24

DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey
Cleopatra Music and Films, with sales and distribution expertise provided by MVD Entertainment Group, will be serving up DVD and Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack editions of Sunset Society on July 24.

Motörhead’s front man, Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister left us in December of 2015, but before the long-lingering health issues overtook him, he teamed with actress and filmmaker Phoebe Dollar (Charlie's Death Wish, Hell’s Highway), adult film icon, Ron Jeremy, and veteran character actor, Robert Donavan, for this tale about a group of vampires that party-hardy on the Sunset Strip (after dark, of course).

Call it type casting if you will, a heavy metal rocker and entourage being vampires  — fans and record executives, among others, believe that as a matter of fact with some recording artists and not fiction anyway.   In any case, Sunset Society took on something of a life of its own after the death of Lemmy — almost like a cult film, but unseen … finally a few screenings were held here and there and that growing status proved to be well-earned.

Ace (Lemmy), sees the problem getting out of control.  Too many young women are starting to disappear and that is getting noticed even on the Sunset Strip area of Los Angeles (where life on the streets can be a little odd anyway).   There’s even an underground floating around, so he recruits a “clean up” crew composed of Sophia (Phoebe Dollar — who also co-directed with Rolfe Kanefsky), Frankie (Ron Jeremy) and “Mr. Cross” (Robert Donavan) to clean things up … including some unruly fellow vampires and any talkative witnesses that might get in the way.

Motörhead’s Lemmy, vampires — along with sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll — and a rip-roaring soundtrack and you have an evening’s viewing that will confirm what you already suspected.   The music business is full of bloodsuckers!

Cleopatra, as mentioned is putting Sunset Society out on July 24 as a stand-alone DVD and a Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack, with includes both a CD of the film’s soundtrack and a 7-inch vinyl copy of the song, “Etched.”
