Icarus Films will be
guiding France’s Distrib Films latest DVD product offering to market on July
10. It will be writer/director Denis
Dercourt’s 2015 film adaptation of the Bernard Sachsé novel, “Sur Mes Quatre Jambes,”
which was titled for the screen as In Harmony (in French: En
Équilibre).
The film had an
ever-so-brief domestic arthouse showcase of just two screens back in 2016, so
it arrives on DVD virtually unseen by audiences drawn to French cinema.
Marc Guermont (Albert
Dupontel — See You Up There, 9-Month Stretch, A Very Long Engagement,
etc.) is an elite equestrian who also does stunt and riding work in films. On his latest film assignment things go
horribly wrong and he takes a nasty fall that leaves him with a broken back.
At his lowest point,
wheelchair bound, in pops a representative from the insurance company by the
name of Florence (Cécile de France — Hereafter, The Kid With a Bike, etc.),
who has been instructed by her sleezy boss to get Marc to settle as soon as
possible (they know that they are on the hook big time for the accident). The first visit proves fruitless, so she is
dispatched a second time, this time dressed to seduce.
Although married, she
finds herself drawn to Marc, and he to her.
And that sets up a monumental conflict … not only with her job, which is
to get the best settlement possible, but with her family as well.
In Harmony is a sultry romantic tale that is based on writer
Bernard Sachsé’s own real-life experiences.
Marc is driven to overcome his debilitating injuries to ride once again
and Florence is at a crossroads in her personal life and career … nothing is as
she expected it to be ... and she will have to betray both to find a path
forward for herself.
Can these two “broken”
individuals find the happiness that has eluded them under such dire
circumstances? Icarus Films will provide
the answers on July 10 with the DVD debut of In Harmony.
In Harmony is presented in French with English subtitles.
