Wolfe has circled Nov. 20
on the calendar as the DVD debut for writer/director Carlos Marques-Marcet’s
romantic drama/comedy, Anchor and Hope.
Game of Thrones’ Talisa Stark (Oona Chaplin
— The
Longest Ride, Aloft) and the Wildling Osha (Natalia Tena — 10,000
km … and as Nymphadora Tonks in four of the Harry Potter movies)
leave the mystical land of Westeros to team up as Eva and Kat respectively,
free spirits who are living the good life on a London canal boat. It’s a good life, a lifestyle where one day magically
blends into the next … why change.
The passing of Eva’s cat
sets things in motion. It is a beautiful
“funeral” ceremony officiated over by Eva’s mother, Germaine (played by Geraldine
Chaplin, Oona Chaplin’s real mother) and that emotional experience triggers
some inner feeling.
Yes, cats are not pets,
but family members and the loss hits the Salsa Dancing instructor in a very odd
way … she announces to her partner, “let’s start a family.” That is a game-changer!!
It is about this time
that Kat’s old friend, Roger (David Verdaguer — 10,000 Km), arrives from
Barcelona to party-hardy in London.
He’s a suave, equally carefree Spaniard, handsome, dark and full of
life.
They party, get drunk and
to the surprise of everyone, Roger says yes to the seemingly impulsive scheme …
you need someone to father a child, no problem.
The voice of reason in
all of this turns out to be Germaine, who has personal experience with
off-the-grid living and all that goes with an “unconventional” family.
Anchor and Hope is romantic fun with complications … the sort of
complications, especially when things don’t go as planned, that can be
life-changing for all involved. Look
for it on Nov. 20!
