Sony Pictures Home
Entertainment looks to the New Year for the home entertainment launch of
director Ari Sandel’s Halloween-season — but kid-oriented — mischievous tale of
the magical Slappy, Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween.
The street date selected
is Jan. 15 for both DVD and Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack selections.
Box office receipts
during the October run-up to Halloween were solid at $46.6 million — the first
theatrical Goosebumps back in 2015 pulled in $80.1 million, so there was
some falloff, but the franchise appears safe for at least a third entry (before
going the direct to video route). For
the record, the ARR is 95 days.
As to bonus nuggets, look
for a gag reel, deleted scenes, a trio of “Slappy-Oke” sing-a-longs and five
featurettes — “Thrills & Chills – The Making of Goosebumps 2,” “Meet
The Monsters,” “Science With Slappy,” “Junk Brothers – Call Now” and “Slappy's
Audition.”
