Target says director Adam Robitel’s Escape Room is streeting on Apr. 23 as both DVD and Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack product offerings. Walmart and Best Buy agree. So does Ingram’s videoeta.com web site, but in took the PR department over at Sony Pictures Home Entertainment until Monday, Mar. 11 to confirm what all of the retailers were already telling the public.
The film pulled in $56.3 million in box office receipts, so you’d figure that a little effort in promoting its arrival in the home entertainment marketplace would be a routine matter. However, retailers apparently got tired of waiting for an official press announcement and took matters into their own hands.
For the record, the ARR is 109 days …
Bonus goodies include both an alternate ending and an alternate opening, deleted scenes and a quartet of featurettes — “Games, Set, Match,” “The Lone Survivors,” “Would You Ever, Part 1” and “Would Your Ever, Part 2.”
