Bullets, Bombs and Babes are just three words that
fans have to hear and they know immediately that cult filmmaker Andy Sidaris is
the topic of discussion. Mill Creek
Entertainment will once again be promoting Bullets, Bombs and Babes with
newly-prepared Blu-ray editions of his films during the month of July.
For 25 years he gathered up Emmys with ABC’s Wide
World of Sports and after the 1968 Olympics (also an Emmy-winner) he tried his
hand at filmmaking. In 1985 he found
the magic formula and became a legend for his efforts!
On Apr. 16, Mill Creek Entertainment released on
Blu-ray the first two films in his Bullets, Bombs and Babes series of action
flicks, Malibu Express
(1985) and Hard Ticket to Hawaii
(1987). With those two gems now in
collector’s hands, it is time for the next two in the series to have their turn
on Blu-ray.
On July 9, fans of Sidaris and his winning formula
of combining Playboy Playmates and Penthouse Pets with solid action scripts and
crisp production values continues with new 4K transfers (first time in
widescreen) and the Blu-ray launch of Picasso
Trigger (1988) and Savage
Beach (1989).
Both are priced-to-collect and come complete with Digital Copy!
Dona Speir (Playmate of the Month for March of 1984)
and Hope Marie Carlton (Playmate of the Month for July of 1985) star in both
films as Donna and Taryn (first appearing in Hard
Ticket to Hawaii), who are secret agents assigned
to bring the bad guys to justice.
The
pair are assisted by Patticakes (Patty Duffek — Playmate of the Month for
May of 1984) and other “super” talented agents, who can handle machine guns and
disrobing with the best of them.
Both of these newly minted Blu-rays in the Bullets,
Bombs and Babes series come complete with commentary and behind-the-scenes
action.
July 9, mark it down … and Mill Creek Entertainment
is just getting started!
