Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has the latest
installment in “The Conjuring Universe” primed for its transition to the home
entertainment packaged media world on Aug. 6.
This would be director Michael Chaves' The Curse
of la Llorona.
The ARR of 109 days and turnstiles spun to the tune
of $54.6 million.
Consumers — and especially fans of the Conjuring
horror series — will have both DVD and Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack editions to
choose from come the first week of August.
The announcement for this creep-fest is timed to
take advantage of the theatrical arrival of Annabelle
Comes Home on June 26 … Annabelle, the
“porcelain doll,” is referred to by Father Perez (played by Tony Amendola both
here and in the original Annabelle
film) when Anna (Linda Cardellini — Avengers:
Endgame, A Simple Favor) seeks his help in
explaining the demonic force that she has unwittingly released.
Plus the 1973 timeline for The Curse
of la Llorona fits in perfectly with The
Conjuring and Annabelle
films released in the series thus far. In other words, for genre fans this is a
must!!
As to bonus treasures, we have deleted scenes,
storyboards and a trio of featurettes — “The Myth of La Llorona,” “Behind the
Curse” and “The Making of a Movie Monster.”
