Ultra Q returns on Aug. 11!
Mill Creek Entertainment has been systematically
releasing programming from Tsuburaya Productions Co., Ltd Ultraman library
since October of last year … 50 years of action drawn from 1,100 broadcast
episodes plus 20 feature films.
The first series to street on Oct. 15 was Ultra Q:
Complete Series 01, which originally aired on
Japanese TV back in 1966, launching the “Kaiju” tales of fantastic monsters and
super heroes. On Aug. 11 the
double-disc Blu-ray collection (complete with Digital Copy) of Neo Ultra
Q, featuring all 12 episodes, will be
available for fans to enjoy.
This is a “sequel” to the original Ultra Q,
albeit 45 years later (broadcast in 2013 in Japan … did not reach these shores
until 2017) … it is the 24th episodic adventure in the series overall.
In Neo Ultra Q, Jin
Haibara (Seiichi Tanabe — Vampire in Love), Emiko
Watarase (Rin Takanashi) and Shohei Shirayama (Hiroyuki Onoue) are three
friends who join forces to investigate strange monsters (Kaiju) and other weird
atmospheric anomalies.
Neo Ultra Q,
available for the first time, is presented with its original Japanese language
track with English subtitles.
