Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has tabbed Feb. 1 for a multi-SKU celebration of the newest adventures of the next generation of Ghostbusters, director Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
The ARR comes in at a swift-to-market 74 days and domestic box office receipts currently stand at a stellar $117.2 million.
Planned for release are stand-alone DVD and Blu-ray editions, plus a 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack presentation. There will also be a six-disc 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray “Ultimate Collection” set featuring the original 1984 Ghostbusters, the 1989 sequel, Ghostbusters II, and the 2021 next generation reboot, Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
There is one bonus feature included with all three editions of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, the featurette titled “Summoning the Spirit: Making Ghostbusters: Afterlife.”
Exclusive to the 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack and the Blu-ray SKUs are the aforementioned “Summoning the Spirit: Making Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” plus a deleted scene and six additional featurettes — “We Got One! Easter Eggs Revealed,” “Ghostbusters: A Look Back,” “A Look Ahead,” “Bringing Ecto-1 Back to Life,” “The Gearhead’s Guide to Ghostbusters Gadgets” and “Special Effects: The Ghosts of Afterlife.”
