Cleopatra Entertainment, with sales and distribution expertise provided by MVD Entertainment Group, has selected May 20 as the street date for the Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack debut (with bonus CD) of Grounded with the Goo Goo Dolls, an “Augmented Reality” concert, featuring a 21-song set filmed in 4K with a multi-camera set up.
The Goo Goo Dolls teamed up with Thunder Studios in Long Beach, California to film an elaborate fan-centric virtual concert featuring their greatest hits, plus some new material.
So, what is on the menu? For starters, “Name” from the group’s 1995 “A Boy Named Goo” album is here, as are “Dizzy,” “Slide,” “Broadway,” “January Friend,” “Black Balloon” and “Iris” from the Goo Goo Dolls’ 1997 breakout Platinum album, “Dizzy Up the Girl.”
Other material from the virtual concert are “Big Machine,” “Here is Gone” and “Smash” from the 2002 “Gutterflower” album, and new material, “Fearless,” “Indestructible” and “Miracle Pill” from the group’s latest album (2019) titled “Miracle Pill.”
A fan-pleasing event … available from Cleopatra Entertainment on May 20 (and remember, the Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack includes a bonus CD soundtrack).
